Why choose hardwood flooring?

Understanding wood flooring

Natural Hardwood Flooring

  Unfinished Floors

Unfinished or site finished flooring is the most common flooring installed by flooring professionals. One benefit to site finished floors is the ability to fill in gaps and nail holes during the sanding process. Another benefit is the ability to choose your stain color and finish.

 Pre-Finished Floors

Pre-finished floors are factory coated with stain and finish. Most pre-finished floors have multiple coats of finish (4+) and are usually very durable.

  Floating Floors

Floating floors are typically an engineered product designed for use over concrete or for below grade, such as a basement.

  Stairways

Hardwood stairs are a great way to add a focal point to a room. Also, mixing wood and tile such as slate adds a dramatic look to the most basic of staircases (wood treads and slate risers)

  Bordering and Inlays

Borders and inlays are a great way to add separation between rooms or to add an accent to an area.

  Restoration of Old Floors

Many older homes have hardwood floors under the carpet. Many times there are areas that are damaged beyond what a floor sander can get out, in these cases we can tear out the damaged areas and patch it back for a seamless repair. The floors can then be sanded and finished to bring back the original beauty of the floor.

  Water Damage

Water damage is a major concern for any homeowner with hardwood floors. In most cases we can tear out the damaged area, dry the subfloor and patch the area back to look as if nothing ever happened.
